Coronavirus Protection Concept

  • Please visit our homepage to book a time slot for your visit. This will help us avoid clusters of visitors in the building.
  • It’s mandatory to wear a mask for visitors aged 12 and over.
  • Stay at home if you have symptoms of illness.
  • Please keep 2 meters distance between you and other visitors.
  • Pay by card whenever possible.
  • Please respect the rules of hygiene and conduct set by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG). You will find disinfectants at the entrance and in the cloakroom.
  • We kindly ask you to give us your contact details in order to visit the museum. They will be deleted in full after 14 days.

Admission fees

CHF 7 / 5 (reduced: AHV/IV etc.)

Free admission under 26 years and for holders of the Swiss Museum Pass, the Raiffeisen card, VMS card or ICOM card

Opening hours

Saturday/Sunday 11 am – 5 pm
Tuesday 4 pm – 9 pm (temporarily the museum opens only on weekends)

Public holidays / Major events in Zurich / Private events

Open: Easter Saturday (11.4.), Easter Sunday (12.4.), Ascension Day (23. and 24.5.), Pentecost Sunday (31.5.), National Holiday (1.8.), Boxing Day (26.12.), Berchtold Day (2.1.2021)

Closed: Private Event (17.3.), Private Event (21.11.)

Setup of next exhibition

Closed: Tu 27.10./3.11./10.11.

Free admission: Sa/Su 31.10.-1.11., Sa/Su 7.-8.11.

Guided tours

Public: Every first Sunday of the month at  2 pm (approx. 1 hour)

Private (in German or English possible): 1 hour (approx.), number of participants according to agreement

CHF 300 per group / CHF 150 for schools (including regular entrance ticket)

Private tours are to be booked preferably outside the regular opening hours.
